Yoga with Sandy
At Aspyr we have 2 yoga teachers working to deliver classes and 1-2-1/group sessions.
Sandy Rowe is the Director of Aspyr Fitness and uses her knowledge of anatomy and physiology to guide you through your yoga practise. She has practised yoga for 5 years and uses it to improve muscle strength and flexibility.
Sandy qualified as a 200 hour Yoga teacher in 2019 (Yoga Alliance US certified). Yoga starts with breathing, helping to move the rib joints at the spine. This is particularly key when you consider many people are not able to breathe correctly into the diaphragm, leading to neck, shoulder and back issues. Sandy then turns the focus of your yoga practise from the spine towards the hips and shoulders, to help improve active mobilisation and passive stretching.
Yoga is a great way of strengthening the body, as well as releasing tightness in your muscles.
Yoga with Harri
Harri started practising yoga 5 years ago, primarily to build strength, but in the process discovered how regular practise had an immensely positive impact on her mental wellbeing, as much as her physical health. She very quickly fell in love with the yoga community in London and, after toying with the idea of taking the next step for a while, she completed her 200hr vinyasa yoga teacher training with Yoga London in 2019, where she met Sandy.
Her classes focus on how the movement feels rather than how it looks and she always tries to encourage her clients to be mindful and present during their practise. During lockdown, she has been studying Foundations to Teaching Mindfulness Meditation online with Yoga Campus, led by the Buddhist teacher Michael Stone. Harri is also an actor and trained in physical theatre at Jacques Lecoq in Paris.
Harri teaches classes and 1-2-1/group sessions.
